The Méritas Awards are held annually and recognize the exceptional achievements of athletes, volunteers, craftsmen, and various curling events held across the province, which promote the sport of curling. Nominations sent to Curling Québec during the subscription period, are then sent to the corresponding regional associations, which then determine the finalists in each category. From the list of finalists, Curling Québec then determines the provincial winners.

The Event of the Year Award 2019 recognizes the efforts of Kurling for Kids’ entire organizing committee and volunteers across its participating curling clubs, as well as the hours upon hours of hard work and dedication Kurling for Kids has for its cause.

In 2019, Kurling for Kids held its annual bonspiel across 11 curling club in Montreal and surrounding areas on March 30th, which had over 600 participants. There were also multiple corporate and single day events that were held throughout the year, which aided K4K in raising over $455,000 for both the Ste-Justine and Montreal Children’s hospitals.

The presentation of the Méritas Award will take place during Kurling for Kids’ 2020 campaign launch, taking place in the P.K. Subban Atrium at the Montreal Children’s hospital, on January 23rd, 2020. Details regarding the event will be posted on the Kurling for Kids website and social media pages.
