Kurling for Kids 2023 – Curling in support of children

Kurling for Kids 25th Annual Fundraising Tournament raises $350,000! ! !

Over 425 curlers and countless supporters of Kurling for Kids enjoyed a day of curling in 2023 - and all in the name of fundraising. Kurling for Kids held the 25th Anniversary Kurling for Kids tournament this past year and had another amazing year as $350,000 was raised for the Montreal Children's, CHU Sainte Justine's, CHU Sherbrooke, CHEO, SickKids and Stollery Children’s hospitals. The fundraiser has now raised over $5 million dollars by holding an annual curling tournament in Montreal area curling clubs.

All funds raised will be used towards meeting the sponsored hospitals' most urgent needs. Kurling for Kids continues in its partnership with CHU Sainte-Justine from 2021-2025 for the long-term funding (contribution of $1,000,000 over five years) of the creation of the Pediatric Cardiac Sciences Centre, a true multidisciplinary center characterized by a collaboration of their cardiology, heart surgery, pediatric ICU, and neonatal teams.

For the Montreal Children's Hospital, Kurling for Kids has committed to multi-year funding of $250,000 for a room in the brand new Pavillon Kat Demes scheduled to open in January 2024. It will be the first and only residence in Montreal offering free accommodation for parents of hospitalized children.

CHU Sherbrooke, CHEO, SickKids and Stollery Children’s hospitals will have their funds put to critical needs equipment and services.

This year's event took place in three provinces and over ten curling clubs. To raise funds for the Kurling for Kids tournament, curlers were asked to raise money by collecting donations of at least $75. Also, many businesses and individuals were very generous with private donations to the cause.

Huge thanks go out to all our major corporate sponsors: Allianz Trade, BDO, BMA. Coerente Capital Management, Delmar, Delta, Hardline, Joe Pub, Lorne Steinberg Wealth Management, Poulet Rouge, Promax Combustion, Scotyz Bar & Grill and WestJet. Sincere thanks go out to all the curlers, sponsors and volunteers who made this event as successful as it was.

The 26th edition of Kurling for Kids is fast approaching and will take place April 6, 2024. K4K will be holding its first curling event outside of Quebec, scheduled at the Altona Curling Club in Manitoba. K4K also welcomes the Lennoxville Curling Club in the Eastern Townships of Quebec to the family. These are our continued steps to expand to the rest of Canada with all proceeds going to the pediatric hospitals throughout the country.
