Who We Are

Kurling for Kids is a charity committed to enhancing the lives of children and their families receiving care in children’s hospitals. We raise funds in support of hospitals, helping enable access to advanced medical treatments, programs, and equipment that improve quality of care and support young patients.

After CHU Sainte-Justine saved their daughter Jessica’s life, Robert Sears and Sylvie Sanschagrin dedicated themselves to organizing an annual curling tournament in support of children’s hospitals in Montreal. In 1999, Kurling for Kids was officially born — a yearly event focused on raising funds in support of children and families facing similar challenges.

Kurling for Kids participants contribute by gathering donations from family and friends, selling raffle tickets, and organizing affiliate events, all in support of K4K’s fundraising efforts. What began as a small gesture of gratitude has grown into a meaningful annual tradition, now celebrating its 28th anniversary and having raised over $5.8 million in support of children’s hospitals.

Fundraising initiatives like Kurling for Kids continue to play an important role in supporting children’s hospitals, giving families, friends, and communities the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

2026 Campaign

On behalf of the Kurling for Kids Executive Committee, volunteers, curlers, fundraisers, and especially the children who benefit from your support, we invite you to join us for Kurling for Kids 2026.

Starting with just $6,628 in 1999, K4K has grown to raise over $5.8 million in support of children’s hospitals, including a record $570,000 in 2024. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we raised over $1,125,000 between 2020 and 2023 and expanded to support several new children’s hospitals across Canada.

This 28th anniversary year, we are excited to partner with even more clubs and organizations to continue supporting children’s hospitals nationwide. Our fundraising model focuses on supporting hospitals within each region, helping ensure that funds raised benefit children and families in the communities where they are collected.
